Introduction to Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) is a
three-year undergraduate program in law that is also commonly referred to as a Bachelor of Legislative Law. LLB is an abbreviation for Legum Baccalaureus.
Candidates who have completed a bachelor's degree in any subject are eligible
to pursue the three-year LLB program. There is also a five-year integrated LLB
program that can be pursued after intermediate.
The Bachelor of Laws is an
introductory course that provides students with a foundation in the legal
procedures used in the profession. The course covers topics such as
constitutional law, jurisprudence, family law, CrPC, IPC, contract law, and
more. It is essential to note that in order to practice law in India, LLB
graduates must pass the All India Bar Examination conducted by the Indian Bar
Council (BCI).

To be eligible for the LLB program,
students must have a minimum 45% aggregate in Class XII and pass the LLB
entrance examination. Graduates from any field can study LLB for three years by
passing the appropriate entrance exams. There is no age limit for pursuing LLB
courses. Some of the popular LLB entrance exams include TS LAWCET, AP LAWCET,
SET SLAT, DU LLB, etc.
