Cath-Lab Technicians, commonly known as cardiac Catheterization technicians, are cardiovascular technology experts. Cath-Lab Technicians are trained to assist interventional cardiologists in conducting minimally invasive cardiac operations using cardiac and coronary imaging. Students will be educated to help and follow clinicians during operations such as coronary imaging (angiography, IVUS, FFR, and so on), percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), rotational atherectomy, peripheral angiography, and structural heart disease interventions. In addition, students will be able to read basic ECGs, ECHO, and TMT findings, as well as recognize cardiac arrhythmias.
After completing the course and internship, students will be able to work as Cath-Lab Technicians or Cardiac Catheterization Technologists at hospitals, nursing homes, cardiac clinics, diagnostic centers, and other relevant institutions. Cath-Lab Technicians might work as Application Specialists in medical equipment manufacturing businesses after gaining some experience.
