Civil Services Main Exam 2021 To Be Conducted As Per Schedule: UPSC

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced that the Civil Services (Main) examination for 2021 will begin on Friday as planned.

Furthermore, according to PTI, the Commission has instructed states to ensure that candidates and exam officials are not inconvenienced in their preparation for the exam.

On January 7, 8, 9, 15, and 16, the UPSC Mains test will be held. Candidates will be contacted for a personal interview based on the results of the exam, which consists of nine papers.

Meanwhile, according to Live Law, a plea has been filed in the Delhi High Court asking for the Mains examination to be postponed due to the increasing number of cases of Covid-19 and the spread of the new Omicron form.

"The matter was discussed today by Advocate Anushree Kapadia before a Division Bench led by Chief Justice DN Patel, and permission was granted for an urgent listing tomorrow," the statement continued.

Candidates who are scheduled to take the Mains exam have filed a petition in court, claiming that conducting the exam in the current situation will jeopardize their lives.

Candidates have demanded that the exam be postponed for at least two weeks. They fear that because many candidates will have to travel to exam centers from different cities, they will be vulnerable to the virus.
